Sports Massage in Kirstenhof, Cape Town
Hands-on treatment for athletes, active people and anyone carrying tension. Morgen has worked with professional rugby players, Cape Epic and Argus riders, and everyday runners since 2009 — and the same trigger point, myofascial release and deep soft-tissue techniques work just as well for desk-bound shoulders and a stiff lower back.

What is Sports Massage?
Using trigger point therapy, sports massage is a targeted form of massage therapy designed to treat and prevent soft tissue injuries. It will also help improve mobility, and enhance recovery. It’s ideal for athletes and active individuals, but it’s just as effective for anyone dealing with muscle tension, postural imbalances, or everyday aches and pains.
- •Reducing muscle tension and tightness
- •Increasing flexibility and range of motion
- •Supporting faster recovery after training or a race
- •Helping prevent injuries
- •Relieving chronic pain and stiffness

What to expect
Every session starts with a short chat about what’s going on and what you want from it. Treatment is one-on-one in a private home studio — you undress to your comfort level and are draped throughout. Pressure is adjusted to you; sports and remedial work can be firm, but it should never be something you brace against. You’ll usually leave with one or two things to do between sessions.

Sports massage — common questions
What is the difference between Myotherapy and massage?
Myotherapy is the name of Morgen’s studio; the treatment is sports and remedial massage. “Myo” means muscle, and the work is targeted soft-tissue therapy — trigger point therapy, myofascial release and deep-tissue techniques — aimed at treating and preventing muscular pain and injury, rather than a purely relaxation-style massage. If you want the calmer version, relaxation massage is on the menu too.
How much is a 1 hour sports massage?
A 60-minute massage is R590. Sessions are also available at 30 min (R450), 45 min (R510) and 90 min (R1100) — the price is by length, whether it’s sports, remedial, relaxation or pregnancy massage. Current pricing is always on the Services page.
Where is the studio, and is there parking?
The studio is at 2 Alfred Street, Kirstenhof, Cape Town — a private home studio a few minutes from Tokai, Bergvliet, Lakeside, Muizenberg and Constantia. There is free street parking outside.
How do I book?
Book online: create an account (or log in) and choose a time from live availability. New clients pay upfront for their first session. You can also WhatsApp 078 258 5893. The studio is open Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel or move a session with at least 24 hours’ notice and there is no charge. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) escalate over a 12-month period: the first is a warning, the second is charged at 50%, and the third onwards at 100%. Full terms are on the Terms page.
Do you do pregnancy massage and Pilates?
Yes — gentle, supported pregnancy massage using side-lying positioning, and pregnancy (preggie) Pilates focused on pelvic floor, deep-core support and lower-back relief, adapted to each trimester.
I’m not an athlete — is sports massage still for me?
Yes. The same techniques that keep athletes moving are just as effective for postural tension from desk work, chronic stiffness and everyday aches. Pressure is always adjusted to you.
